67 390 fan shroud
« on: August 04, 2015, 01:27:55 AM »
Would C7ZE-8146-A be the correct shroud for a late Dearborn car with A/C and thermactor ? Is the shroud for this application marked in any way to identify it.

Original ones will be difficult to find and normally expensive one found - could sell a half dozen this evening if I could find them

Originals have "horse hair" embedded in the plastic they are made from giving them are particular look and feel. Have a chunk of one I keep for judging classes as a visual aid. Have to look for it and take a picture

Here is an attempt to show the surface texture - almost like fiberglass applied with a chopper gun.

The books shows that the shroud should be marked with C7ZE-A (and yes the 67 MPC shows the part number for your application and 67 GT500's as C7ZZ-8146-A )

Unfortunately the MPC is incorrect and you should find the markings to be C7ZE-8146-A

It should also have the FoMoCo marking in the square rectangle as shown below - purple arrow

+ 1. The supply is so low and demand so high that a nice used one is around 1000.00 . Another problem is they are rarely for sale. I am not aware of any genuine ones for sale at this time.i am aware of conterfits for sale unfortunately. Warning - a genuine Ford C7-A fan shroud will also include the FOMOCO trademark. Early reproductions are being passed off as genuine and at the high prices you can't afford to get took. There are other identifying factors too but the easy one to understand is the trademark. The current injected plastic reproduction is very nice and what I would suggest for a stress free and economical alternative.
