valve covers & gaskets
« on: November 30, 2014, 02:34:13 PM »
A clarification please: When the engine was painted, the valve cover, the gasket, and the two center bolts were installed, so they all should be blue for a 1966 engine. The remaining bolts were added later and are unpainted cadmium plated.  For the chrome valve covers, they also get the cadmium bolts, all unpainted, but how about the valve cover gasket? Did it get painted with the engine? Thank you

Yes, valve cover gasket would have gotten over-spray around the edges.

Thought the question was about painted VC's?  Wouldn't expect to see VC gasket paint over-spray on K code cars with factory dress-up kit.
