WTB: NOS fuel sending unit for 66 Hipo
« on: December 10, 2014, 07:41:23 PM »
I believe part number is C4ZF-9275-B but I read somewhere there is a C6ZF.  Help or guidance on where to find would be much appreciated.  Thanks, Michael.

A 65 would use a C4ZF marked sender . A 66 would use the C6 . I would not hold your breath on finding a NOS unit. I am sure there are some out there but few and far between and very expensive unless you find someone who doesn't know what they have. I see many excellent used units that would pass for new at least the small face portion seen when installed in the gas tank.

Bob, where are you finding these excellent used units?  I'd like to pick up one for my '65 convertible.
Too much junk, too little time.

A C6 (thanks for the clarification!) used and functioning works for me.  A quick tour of the internet horizon, though, tells me those are few and far between, as well.

Typically from the desert states or west coast. I always try to keep a few around. They aren't cheap ether but easier to find (relatively speaking)and lower priced then NOS.

The C8 marked 3/8 line sender became the replacement for decades. There were not very many service C4,C6,or C7 marked senders ever available especially after many got turned back into Ford for credit with the Ford inventory program . You can still find them as there are multitudes of originals still in use and in junk yards but they can be very pitted. I try to pick them up every chance I get . But they have to be presentable to have to repair the inside the tank sender portion otherwise it isn't worth the trouble.
