Topic: Which Evapo-rust are you guys using?

I'm needing to use some evapo-rust for the first time. I read where you guys use it quite frequently.
A Buddy of mine says he's used the evapo-rust in the gray jug with exceptional results.  I have a water pump with new brass bearings installed. Will evapo-rust hurt the bearings?

My question is, which one is everybody using?

That's what I use and believe most folks do.  I found the best price for a gallon at my local Tractor Supply. $21.99/gal

National parts depot sells it.  The 32 ounce jug is quite small.  If you got other pieces you're planning to dip I would go for the full gallon.

Yea, the stuff is habit forming.   

I removed a very heavily rusted rear end cover from my SVO and was curious how well Evaporust would do on it. Well, about a gallon later.....(it was HEAVY rust!)  I got my results! 

Not sure it was the best use of $22+ but my curiosity was satisfied.      I don't have a blast cabinet so that wasn't an option. Didn't find any cool factory markings tho'.

Yeah, that's what I think too! With longer parts like driveshafts and leaf springs to contend along with having a capped off  roofing gutter filled with the stuff only begs for having 5-10 gallons on hand...and even then, you will have to move things around to get eveything dunked

Currently buy mine from Harbor Freight. Once the new shop is up and if I do allot will likely look into getting a barrel

I  think Charles was likely referring to the typical situation where you start out with one item then find another .... and another   that could use a little freshening up. Just like most of our restoration projected they seem to snow ball...... not that I've had allot of experience with snow nor the idea that someone would want to make balls from that stuff
