1966 289 2V Carb Spacer
« on: October 02, 2014, 02:24:20 PM »
I was wondering if the carb spacer on the 289 2V (December 1965 engine build) was painted at the engine plant and therefore should be blue, or was it added at the assembly plant and should be natural aluminum.  One Forum entry for a 1965 engine stated that it should be block color (black.)  But is that the case in 1966 MY too? Thank you

Typically mounted on the intake with gasket before engine was painted.  Not uncommon to see block color on the top of the carb studs too.

Thanks Charles.  The engine gets painted tomorrow so we will add the spacer and the gasket prior to paint.
