Burton brushed Aluminum panel availability

There are rumors that Burton no long makes brushed aluminum panels. I don't listen to rumors.
However, buying Burton aluminum panels was on my punch list and I neglected that item.

I just called and found that while the website says "unavailable" on the original tabbed version for the dash area they do make these still, but are on-demand rather via the website. Order now and you should get them within 3 weeks.

Call at around 3:50 Ohio time for best luck at receiving a person at the other end. They do return calls, so look for the 937 area code if you leave a msg.

That is helpful advice that others with 67 deluxe interiors should be mindful of . The ones that Burton MFG's are closer to assemblyline then any of the others that I have seen. I would suggest getting them now while they are still are available even if you are not ready for them yet.

Yes, the rumors scared me after I noticed that Burton was still on the white board.

As others may have found out, the chrome instrument, center and right reproductions do not (to my knowledge) have the slits in the chrome plastic and you have to order the non-tab versions of  the instrument, center and right aluminum panels.

I elected to have my originals re-chromed because the single layer aluminum panels do not lay near as flat as the two layer tabbed panels.

I have another original Ford version of the instrument panel but it came with the simple one layer aluminum over the tabbed panel. I wonder if this was an original? It seemed so since there is no camera case finish underneath and it has the correct part numbers.

Anyway, the tabbed aluminum skinned version looks much flatter than the other option.
