I've got a C5AE-6A666-B-C.S.CO pcv valve on my Nov 65 built Shelby. It looks to be maybe original. Also looks like a natural finish on it. Is this correct for my hipo and should it be clear zinc or gold zinc or natural? Thanks Ray
True that Jeff. I guess the only way to know what was original to the car is to find a couple of owners that absolutely knows their PCV valve to be original, assy line pieces, and compare that data. Can you tell me if the 65/66 V8 PCV valves were all alike or did the hipo stand apart. That much would be a start.Ray

Here's a pretty good reference image showing the finish that Bob mentions and the style that Brant mentioned. I believe I saved it from a previous post on the topic several years ago (if so, I apologize for not crediting the original poster, I saved the image but not the poster's name!)
Per Mannel (Ch 6, pic 6F6, pg 6-28), the PCV valves used in 66 are C6AE-6A666-b1 and -B2. Both are of the stamped design and neither could be disassembled for cleaning. The picture show the part numbers stamped on the base.Jim
