Topic: 1965 K code HIPO convertible / brass tag car

 Just wanted to bring your attention to this mornings find on eBay. This search shows a 1965 289 HiPo convertible, as an un-restored (but really needs one). The cool thing about this car is that it has a DSO of Transportation services and still has the Ford brass tag. Pretty cool. Wish I had a small fortune to bid on this one! Maybe some good discussions on this since it looks to be mostly untouched even though time has taken it's toll.

 I remember watching an auction show where they discussed a Cougar Eliminator that had a Ford brass tag attached to the firewall, similar scenario to this car. It was something denoting internal use within Ford. If I remember correctly, the owner of the Cougar stated his car was used by Ford at auto shows where they were displaying the Cougar. ?

Interesting car, but extremely rusty.  Paint/body work will run at least $35k+.

At the bottom in the auction questions, someone replied that the tag indicated the lease time and employee ID.

DSO 89 - Transportation Services "Brass Tag" cars were usually Ford Motor Company employee Lease, Transportation or Executive used cars at Ford used for Ford employees.  Once in awhile you will see one of these cars "pop-up", though their history is interesting, It is even more interesting when they are found on such high optioned cars such as K-codes, GT cars, etc. over your regular average run of the mill mustang.
