Thank for your explanation Jeff that makes perfectly good sense and I don't disagree. However, back to your original comment about showing the car with that modification. Wouldn't that depend on what judging class the vehicle was entered in?  I wouldn't expect to see that idler on a Thoroughbred class car. However, would a Concours Driven car expect to lose points for an dealer add on like that? 

Same standard basically - the amount of points needed for each level of award is slightly less (built into the awards standards so judges do not allow for those differences) and the allowance for a couple of things specifically related to driving like finish on the exhaust. that is where the differences end. IMHO really don't want owners to feel like they are (excuse the term) the "red headed stepchild" of the concours world ;)

Allot of people have suggested getting rid of the class all together over the years. Any lessening of the standard I think plays into those individuals hands
