RPM-Rust Preventer

Has anyone had any long term experience with this stuff?  I am interested to know if it really lasts and protects bare metal for the long term.  Does it need to be reapplied periodically like BoeShield?  Any other comments or observations?  TIA

I've done a trial with rpm & boeshield, neither lasted as claimed. I'll post photos tomorrow

I applied RPM to my rear leaf springs, shackles, drive shaft, and most of the bare metal pieces on the front suspension.  I've driven the car almost 2,000 miles since the restoration was completed last fall, and so far, I have not seen any rust on those items that were treated.  Then again, I don't drive the car when the roads are wet, and don't live in an area with high humidity or salty ocean air, so that may have something to do with the lack of corrosion as well...

Thanks for that Kevin--I have 2 coats on the driveshaft.  No rust yet--although it has never left the garage... :o

My test, one piece of steel cut in half, cleaned with evaporust, degreased, oven dried then coated with product. Left to dry then placed outside in a near vertical position.

Thanks a bunch for the side by side test are you in a humid or dry region?

Wonder what part the exposure to sun light played in the results.  In many parts of this country (US) that can be the most destructive of all.

Now if the plates were left flat and only one side exposed to the sun light during the whole test period my concern goes out the window  ::)

the last two photo's show how the plates stood during exposure. no rain during the test just cool nights with dew, dry days. about 8 to 9 hours of sunlight a day on the front face only.
daytime temperature around 75 deg F. I'm about 10 miles from the sea so might be a tiny amount of sea air sometimes.
Because of these results I'm using paint to simulate bare steel
