Guide to Original 1969 and 1970 Hoods
« on: August 02, 2014, 03:13:39 AM »

Finally finished the latest guide that shows the differences between 1969 and 1970 Mustang, Boss, and Shelby hoods and the different versions each year.  If you see anything missing or have questions let me know.  This one took a little while longer because I needed the help of others who contributed with photos and otherwise....appreciate everyone's efforts.

White 69 boss 429 hood don't look like a factory cut-out hood to me?

I think the white Boss9 hood picture I used is from Harold's old car.  I can update the photo with a different photo....I have this other one which should be from an original paint Boss9:

That would be a better reference 69 b9 factory hood photo.  Have seen this mistake made many times over the years as people cut out hoods for a boss 429 restoration thinking the hoodscoophole is round not tracing an original hood cutout or thinking it was a goofup or whatever  but the b9 hood had an offset cutout in area by hoodscoop flapper to cable hookup so you could have access to hook cable up to flapper & install small strap & nut to stud that hoods cable in place so flapper can open properly set  just like the manual choke cable setting opening the carb choke butterfly.

Ok I updated the article now with this picture of the Boss9 hood and also noticed two other links were not working which is now fixed.
