Coil Brackets

Can't find where these have been documented.
The bottom two are basically the same with the opposite corner cut. I think the left bottom is 1968, right bottom is 1967 and possibly 1970?
Top left is 1969 351W.

I believe that there maybe even one more found on 1967-73 V-8 engines. MPC is kind of confusing for applications. 1-2, 3? for 1970? May have to do with where the coil is mounted?

There's another variety with a hole to index the coil and also 6 cyl are different.

Believe different corners angled = big block - small block applications

There are also reinforced and unreinforced versions as well as the early and 6 cylinder versions as Charles mentioned

Guess this subject is going to take a while. ;) Let me dig through the pictures and start posting what I find while others post their findings.

Sure everyone understands how often these brackets can get swapped from one car to another especially when they are rebuilt or the engine gets swapped ;)

Just finished cleaning and refinishing the coil bracket for my 1964.5 260 V-8 Vert.  See attached. Chuck

Believe the cut corners may refer to where the coil was placed on the engine. Ie Chucks 64½ is for an intake mounted coil - if you would mount one on the right head of a 65/66 it would need to be cut in the other corner.

You're exactly right.  The notch allows the coil to fit up against the intake manifold and sit parallel to the valve cover centered under the vacuum advance.

Coil taken from '68 Mustang V8. Build factory unk. Coil tension screw has "L" stamped on the head. With the grease and crud on the bracket and yellow top would seem to suggest an original rather than replacement piece. I don't think this engine ever saw a pressure washer either! As you can see no index hole in bracket either.
