What to Pay for '67 Hood w/Turn Signals?
« on: June 24, 2014, 10:58:30 AM »
Hi guys, I have a '67 coupe that I'm slowly restoring.  I've always suspected that the front of the hood was bent, and after comparing my car to a friend's '67, it's obvious that my hood has been damaged in the past.  I haven't stripped the paint yet, but I'm pretty sure that there's a fair amount of filler and possibly rust along the front edge of the hood.  The F-O-R-D letter holes have been filled in, and that was my first clue that something was wrong.

If I can find one (I'm in the Atlanta area), what should I expect to pay for a rust-free OEM '67 hood with turn signal cutouts? I've had good luck with the OE Tooling hoods in the past, but I really can't justify $450 + shipping for one for this car.  Is there a chance that I could get a decent OEM hood for less than $450?  Otherwise, I'll be saving my pennies and dimes for a LONG time!   :D
Too much junk, too little time.

If you watch Craig's lists and local swap meets you should be able to source one for $300 or less.

Thanks, Marty.  I'll keep an eye out.  Surely there's one out there somewhere.
