Do you paint your by pass hose?
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:59:31 AM »
Hi I am looking at reference pictures before I start my concours restoration on my 79 Cobra.

This is a picture of my friends low mile 79 Mustang Pace Car.  It looks like his by pass coolant hose is painted.  I will do this but It makes me wonder about serviceable items like hoses and oil filters.  I know the embossed Motorcraft Fl1-A filter was painted from the factory, but do you paint it for the restoration even if the car is not new for a concours restoration?  The rules just state it has to be embossed.

Also, has any one seen any zip ties like this?  The AC power line runs through the small holes.  I could use a pair.  Thanks!

I am not a expert on the latter years but the by pass hose was painted on the early cars.
