Alternator bracket finish
« on: April 02, 2016, 01:59:15 PM »
Hi all

Can you advise the correct finish for the two alternator brackets for a July 67 Metuchen 289, with PS, auto, no AC?

The adjusting bracket appears to be natural - no evidence of paint.  The upper bracket had been painted blue by a PO.
PS bracket is black - assuming semi-gloss.

Thanks in advance
Mark

As a general rule, both would be semi-gloss black. The engine attaching hardware would be engine color, blue, because the bolts were reused. I assume no smog. The adjusting bracket's hardware, and the 7/16 bolt and lock washer would be clear zinc.
