The power steering control valve pinch clamp
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:30:51 AM »
The pinch clamp that holds the two power steering steel lines to the control valve.  Around here, near Chicago, there are no old Ford anything in the u-pick yards.  If you are lucky enough to find one, and pry it apart so you can reuse it, it will stress the metal so it will break the 2nd time you remove it.  These are really made for a one time use anyway.
So, where does one find a suitable replacement?

Good question.  I used a regular radiator hose clamp on mine until I can find something more like the original.  Can anyone post a picture of the original pinch clamp for comparison?  I figure most of these are long gone, and people now probably don't even realize the hoses were originally clamped to the control valve.
Too much junk, too little time.

The one that goes around the lines and the control valve isn't a pinch clamp (like the ones at the ram boot or the cover at the ram) but a screw/worm style hose clamp

Will find a picture ;)

Jeff ,the early 67 's used the same pinch type clamp around the control valve and lines as used on 65/66. The more conventional screw clamp started later in 67 production. Probably after the first of the year 67.

There are pinch clamps available.  But not from the usual suppliers such as NPD, AMK or Virginia Mustang.
   Anywhere else???
