Door glass end seal
« on: April 27, 2014, 01:54:31 PM »
I have a few questions concerning the door / window end seals. Please see the attached pictures which will hopefully clarify my questions:
(1) Do the seals install over the top of or tuck under the door weatherstrip? (see photo)
(2) The driver's side end seal on my particular '67 doesn't fit between the glass and the door (see photo) due to lack of clearance. The passenger side installs properly. Looking at the original seal, the rubber is permanently deformed to the left, away from the glass, giving me the impression it never fit properly from the day the factory installed it. Is this common? I'm not sure I should attempt to correct the issue and if so, how.
(3) Is it worth the time to try and work with the Drake reproduction end seals or should I be hunting for NOS? At first glance these repro seals don't look like they're going to fit very well. I have no idea if any of these exist in NOS form.

Here are some original pics

Have not tried repros, but am rarely satisfied in that department.  Have not seen NOS ones on Ebay in a long while.
