« on: February 07, 2014, 11:55:09 AM »
1968 S code 4 speed toploader fastback Dearborn built 3/20/68 weekend driver/show car correct factory restoration goal

1. AM radio antenna... round or rectangular base? Best concourse replacement antenna brand/part?

2. Drivetrain paint ? bellhousing transmission drive shaft

3. complete stock exhaust system needed minus exhaust manifold. Any particular brand recommendations? Generally speaking...Can a local shop replicate correct system cheaper than ordering from catalog?

thanks
Chris

1. n.o.s. is your best bet

2. bellhousing.........natural..no paint, trans case phosphate & oil finish, driveshaft bare steel. see here for similar examples http://www.deadnutson.com they can build you one.

3. imo a local shop cannot duplicate factory system. there are decent repros out there but not exact. look at these. http://www.scottfullerreproductions.com

Chris, welcome to the site!

1. The round base antenna. NOS is best, but a reproduction will work.  Most suppliers carry the reproduction.

2. As previously stated. Natural paint will work, but this is a concours forum so most of your questions will be answered in that manner.

3. Scott Fuller exhaust is the best available. The cheaper reproduction exhaust will work, but may require some tweaking for the best fit. I don't think a local exhaust shop will be able to get a better factory appearing system than the currently available systems.

1. The reproduction are based on the C5ZZ antenna, if you care correct one is C7ZZ not reproduced
2. Bell housing will have engine paint overspray on it
3. On a scale of 1-10, Scott Fuller 9.75 (NOS is 10) all others 2.3

........... Any advice on finding a correct or correct fitting radiator.. non a/c car ?

Know what date and configuration (auto, manual, extra cooling ......) then start posting wanted ads on all the related sites as well as start checking Ebay and craig's list weekly
