What to look for in a 69 T-5 FB.
« on: January 26, 2014, 06:36:28 PM »
A friend of mine in GA says he thinks he has found a 69 T-5 FB. He's asking me what does he need to look for to claim it is a T-5. I told him I would go to the CMF and see if maybe someone can help me. Already done a search and didn't find anything.

I know Ford didn't make many, only 173 69 FB's were produced according to Marti's "Mustang by the Numbers".

Thanks for any help.

Get a Marti report. It's an inexpensive investment.

Get a Marti.

BTW do not bother to look for an original 69 SCJ T-5. They only made one, and I do know where that one is 8)

Also look here;

Most if not all should have a DSO from 90 - 96

Agree the short answer (now that they are available) is a Marti report.

Also check the buck tag since these (by 69) often listed the country of destination.

It's possible that it might be an export car that someone converted to a T%. Seen allot of those over the years since export cars don't have the different emblems and such while owners want to attract as much attention as possible allot of the time ;)

Much more likely that its an export rather than a T5 just out of percentages.

Once you find out what is was originally then you can go down the list to figure out what has been replaced over the years. Often, depending on country, these cars were required to get a new identification plate attached to the unibody. That as well as other things might be on the list
