What power valve should I have? 66 K-code auto
« on: August 20, 2020, 10:55:39 AM »
Hi All,
required a 66 GT Fastback with a K-code recently.
I have been advised to change the power valve, but what would the number be on an original - seller of the car has several different originals? Carb is an original Autolite 4100 C6Z-F for K-code automatic...

thanks!

There are 3 listed in the 60-68 Ford Car Parts (aka MPC), C0AZ-9A565-A for sea level to 5000 feet, no color listed; C0AZ-9A565-B for 5000 to 10,000 feet, color green, C3AZ-9A595-D for 10,000 to 15,000 feet, color yellow. Those three are common for a lot (yes, it is TWO words) of 4100 4V carburetors. I looked at the two in my stash, one has a tiny letter "H" on the bottom, the other is blank. These are old and any colors are lost to time.

Claes,
Your signature block vin shows one digit to many.  Congrats on your recent purchase.  Do you have the matching engine as verified by the engine vin stamp?

Hi there... avatar fixed ;-)
no, the original block was reported frozen many years ago so this is another K-code block and heads.

However - I just got info from a former owner that the crack in the frozen block was minimal and has been welded - engine is now in posession of a collector of muscle car enginges (and cars)... I have his number, let's hope fr the best :-)
