67 zerk fittings
« on: January 26, 2014, 08:40:36 AM »
Trying to confirm that I have the factory correct grease (Zerk) fitting setup:

A. No fitting, no plug, not even a hole

* Tie Rods, inner (3A131)
* Tie Rods, outer (3A132)
* Idler arm (3355)
* Universal joints (4635)
* Power steering cylinder assembly (3A540)

B. Threaded hole with 1/4"-28 tapered hex head plug (374714)

* Ball joints, upper (3049)
* Ball joints, lower (3050)
* Power steering control valve actuator (3783) [added after replies to original post]
* Shaft Bushings, Upper Control Arm (3069) [moved from category "A" after replies to original post]

C. Grease fitting 1/4"-28 (87907 - straight; 87924 - 90 degree elbow) installed in the factory

* Nothing ?

John there is a threaded hole with plug on the control valve. The other you have looks right to me.

+1 Not sure if I would refer to that section as the control valve but  you get the idea ;)

Looks like the power steering control valve "actuator", part 3783, assembly serviced in the 3A730 kit, does have the hex plug 374714.

Thanks for completing the picture.

Good catch - skipped over that detail :(

The first uppers used on 65's were the style with no hole for the zerts. All that followed did as Tim mentioned
