Got the core I want to restore today, nice item, no cracks. 

The wheel is saddle with a gold trim.  I thought they were silver.  So wondering if maybe the Shelby's got gold and Mustangs silver?  Or is it just discoloration of a  clear to yellow over 40+ years...?

That is discoloration over time. The trim on all of the 68 deluxe steering wheel were silver.
