OEM or Aftermarket Starter Solenoid
« on: December 24, 2013, 01:12:45 PM »
My mid-January Dearborn Coupe came with this Starter Solenoid. The color didn't surprise me as my car has several other features found on the 64-1/2 models, but after a quick cleanup, I noticed no identification that connects it to Ford. Does anyone know if this may have been correct and used by Ford or is it an Aftermarket Part possibly? I did notice that it appears identical in construction when I compared it to another knows correct Brown Solenoid except for the lack of markings.

Thanks :)

That solenoid appears to be an aftermarket unit.

BTW, I have not seen the "brown" color solenoid except on earlier 64 1/2 cars.  Even by August of '64, I have seen the black ones.

Thanks...someone did a great replication job but I didn't think this was correct either.

I agree,  Although Appearing original looking, It is an Early aftermarket one, well made albeit seeing as it is still around today.
