90 deg. elbow tube on 6 cylinder with a/c
« on: February 13, 2013, 09:26:29 AM »
I am trying to find what ford calls an (elbow tube to engine 90 deg. 5/8") The numbers I found for it are 376464-S (11-156A)

On the 6 cylinders with a/c the tube screws into a 90 deg fitting which screws into the side of block near the water pump. A piece of heater hose connects this tube to the fitting on the part that the carb bolts on to.. On non a/c cars there is just a straight piece of steel tube. But I guess this system is used to go around the a/c compressor.

I have the original tube and the 90 deg fitting, but in the past someone cut it off right at the bend. The car is a dearborn convertible, with a scheduled build date of Nov. 17, 65. Any and all help or advice is greatly appreciated, and let me thank anyone who can help in advance.

That's not it.

The correct one has a curved bend to it and is a tube.

That's a tough one to find, I have one on mine,
Here are a few pictures of it.

Check with CTC Auto Ranch in Denton Texas; I purchased both fittings from them for $35.00. I was there in April 2012 and saw several vehicles, Mustang's, Falcon's and other Ford's that had these still attached to their engines. If you live anywhere near North Texas, drop in on them. Don't bring any tools...just point at what you need and they will pull it. If you don't live near by, they will ship, just tell them what you need. The attached photo is of my engine; the 2 fittings are what I found at CTC.
