April 68 Heater Box...
« on: August 27, 2013, 09:41:07 AM »
Forgot the camera today but did get this home and had to post photos after a light clean up....

First time I have found one in such good condition. Not perfect, but I'm stoked at having this look with a minor dusting with a paint brush.

Usually I take them to pieces and rebuild them, this one is getting a mild cleaning and going back in pretty much as-is.  New brass core and will blast and cold galv the interior removable metal brackets.  Other than that, light cleaning, no solvents and back she goes.

One odd item, I am used to seeing the white nylon rivets/push-pins on the resistor.  My three other (ealier) '68's all have the white, this one has black... a running change, a random fastener that was not consistent, or a PO item?

So no takers on the black vs. white studs to hold the resistor...??

I don't recall seeing black, mostly the white/clear ones and sometimes a metal clip.

Yep, seen both of those, this is a new type to me and as original as it all appears just looking to see if anyone else can confirm a similar item...
