Correct 66 Voltage Regulator?
« on: August 12, 2013, 07:49:29 AM »
Hi Guys and Gals,

Can someone please advise me as to the correct Autolite voltage regulator to use in my Dec 65 Metuchen built 66 GT coupe. Is it the one with the silver script or the one with the yellow script or would either be correct?

Thanks in advance,

Dan.

Silver script Autolite would be most common.  There is a call-out for cars with A/C and other options to have the yellow script, but I don't recall ever seeing an original A/C car with one.

The 38 or 42 amp alt used the silver marked reg. Typically A/C cars got the 55 amp  alt which took the yellow stamped reg.
