Topic: Concours Forum - Meeting at the Indianapolis MCA show?

Jeff and I have discussed getting a hotel conference room or restaurant meeting room and getting together with a group of us to hang out and talk about anything related to Concours judging/cars.  Thought that since we will both be at the MCA show in Indianapolis Aug 9-11 that we could pull off something there.  We would like to get a feel for interest in something like this so we can get an idea of how many would attend.  We would have an informal agenda, probably would be on Friday Aug 9th from say 4-9.  Could most likely arrange some catering or order in pizza and drinks, of course we would ask that everyone pitch in.

We do not intend to take away from anything going on with the national event.  The purpose of such a meeting would be both a social gathering of friends and then talk details.  Probably have a laptop and throw some pictures up on a screen.  Would be an opportunity for the group here to get together.  Of course, we would not limit it to just members of the forum, so anyone would be welcome.

Looks like we are a "GO" for a Friday night get together at the:

We have a conference room booked from 6-10pm on August 9th. 

This will be an informal meeting, we will have an overhead projector for show-n-tell type format to discuss any details.  Bring a laptop or a flash drive if you have pics to share.  Jeff and I will discuss a loose agenda, but at this point, just plan a get together.

The hotel says we can't order in pizza unless we consume in the lobby, but she said we could order from the hotel menu.

Hope plenty of you can make time for this little event looks like a fair number have already shown interest. This is sort of a test to see if this is something that will benefit ConcoursMustang community and its members.

Charles, I and others have gotten together many Friday evenings at national shows for many years, sharing new discoveries and challenge commonly held beliefs so this bigger get together is an extension of that in a way and we're  interested to see how it will evolve. Will be bringing my laptop and hard drive, will have to figure out what slideshows to put together

If successful we will repeat it once every year moving it around the country so other areas will get an opportunity.

Thanks to everyone that came out for our first forum get-together, much appreciated!  We had about 25 in attendance.  We'd like to do something again in the future and would like to hear ideas from the members on activities or things they would like to do at meetings like these.  We are completely open to suggestions.
