Door Seal, inside lower C7WB-6520272-3
« on: May 28, 2013, 04:22:47 PM »
In the assembly diagrams there is a lower inside seal shown, PN C7WB-6520272-3, attached to the bottom of the door with six phosphate screws. There is a note specifying it is only used when "R.P.O. moulding floor side member is not installed". What does that mean? What does "R.P.O" stand for? I suspect Rocker Panel comes into play here...

RPO is Regular Production Option

Basically, something that is checked off on the dealer order sheet.

Regular production option...... hmmmm, interesting. Thanks! That's neat to know.

So in this case, does the "RPO" refer to the rocker panel / sill plate molding? In other words, was there an option that deleted that aluminum molding and when that was the case they installed this additional door seal? I don't understand why the lack of the molding would require an additional door seal. Perhaps I'm running down the wrong rabbit hole....

Have no idea on this.  Probably an example of why the assembly manuals should be used with caution, but I'm sure there is probably an explanation.  I don't have a copy of the manuals for '67.  Maybe someone can post up a pic of that page?

The seal sounds like the lower seal used for a short period in 69. Never seen one or holes for one on a 67-8 door.

Maybe another mistake in the assembly manuals - not the first :(

Jeff, this particular '67 car DOES have the holes drilled at the bottom of the door, as described in the 67 assembly diagram. I can certainly post a picture if you're interested.

There's an NOS pair of these currently on ebay.  Search by the part number.

Yes and please remind us of when and where it was built.

Thanks
