Thought I would share some pics of a '66 GT fastback that I am currently restoring. We used the PVC pipe sections like Jeff recommended to duplicate the original skids. This car is owned by a fella that posts here. I'll let him decide if he wants to claim it!

What plant is this one?
Have you found a way to get that factory looking drips/fish eyes in the floor paint? I've noticed that on several original paint floorboards.
If your lucky the floors are nice and original and in that case you can just clean the floor pans, scuff them up (repairing any scratches and such) ans simply shot over the top of the original paint
If not some are using rattle cans to build up the paint along the ribs before the floor color is added. Heard of some using a pencil to allow the paint to track to a low hanging object during this process.
Just a couple of possibilities - sure there are plenty more
