Jeff are you talking about the 2 purple r-code 69 mach 1s I am helping on restoration & seen both of them in last 2 months the drag pack & cj with air cars or are their other 69 purple mustangs documented out there? That color purple (midnite orchid metallic) was only on 69 T-bird for 1 year. Of cource we know there was ONLY ONE REAL PURPLE Shelby made in 69.
Not sure if all 69 purple cars were shot the same color ...... think the fleet book had a number of tones and tints to choice from though it would be easier for Ford if the salesman could talk the buyer into the T bird color.
The one I have pictures is from a 69 S code (looks to be a coupe or conv?) from Dearborn...unfortunately no vin. Reported as having a 72 DSO and owner believed it was Midnight Orchid
