Guess what this part is!
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:34:01 PM »
'Cause I have no idea what this part is...

I know that it is electrical in nature, possibly from a 69 or 70.  Each example has slightly different colored wires and plugs.

The one on the left is 67-68 Transmission gear selector light for the console. Not sure but the one on the right may be for 69-70.

Marty got the left side component. If we could see the plug end we could determine 1967 or 1968. 1967 is a black plug with a male/female connector. The 1968 version is a blue plug with a double male connector.

The wiring and lamp shroud on the right is for a 1969-70 glove box.

Most excellent, guys.  Yup, the one on the left is a 67 PRNDL light.  The one on the right fits what I thought I bought: a box load of 69/70 wiring parts.

What threw me was the bracketry and the shrouds, as I am only familiar with the 65/66 PRNDL light assemblies.

Thanks!

I believe the '69 deluxe wood grain interior uses the map light as a glove box light.

You are correct Aussiemach. I have only seen the above style glove box light on completely standard interior Mustang with the fully flat black camera case RH side dash panel. Not used on Decor Interior or standard interior cars that had the Rectangular clock or the clock panel with the rectangular delete bezel.. It was used on most Cougars. I believe even XR7 which had an extra map light on the bottom side of the dash pad.
