Correct door jamb switch for 1964 1/2 ??
« on: October 30, 2013, 03:32:55 PM »
Can anyone tell me if the early metal door jamb switch is correct for a Dearborn, June built, 1964 1/2 Mustang? Or was the white plastic switch used in 65-66 the standard??

I can only find examples with the plastic surround on cars built that plant - that (and before) month, that plant

Agreed.  My June '64 Coupe has the plastic ones.

Thanks again. Weird how my 1967 with tilt wheel has plastic ones for the door light switches but had an original metal switch for the tilt activator? I would have figured the "more expensive to make" metal switch would have perhaps been on the early cars then pulled to save money?

My Detroit, May 17 build car has the metal ones.  I have replaced them but still have the originals and I am the original owner of the car.

FYI metal tilt switches were used in 68 and 69 too so not that odd relatively speaking. Not sure about 70 Mustang.
