65 Fastback door jamb stainless trims
« on: April 09, 2013, 07:05:04 AM »
Reinstalling the stainless trim pieces to the door jamb are of a June 65 SJ fastback
I was wondering if someone might know if there was sealer applied to the rivet and screw holes of the 2 trims before the fasteners were installed?
Was there a type of sealer applied to the rear of the stainless trim that takes the door rubber?
Was there any sealer applied to the back of the filler trim, tis is the trim that sits between the drip mould and the stainless trim that takes the door rubber?
Thanks

I have removed the roof stainless trim from several cars in salvage
yards and all I have seen is a foam tape on the weatherstrip retainer
where it contacts the roof, the other pieces didn't have any sealer on them.
Of course the weatherstrip itself had sealer where it sits in the stainless
weatherstrip channel.
