What Is This??
« on: March 20, 2013, 10:24:49 PM »
Came from a box of door and 1/4 window hardware. I'm thinking it is unique to Convertible but can't recall???????

Its the stop that bolts into the rear guide channel on a rear quarter window for a 65 66 .I beleive for coupe and convertible body styles not just convertible but not 100% sure.

It was obviously and afterthought to stop the quarter-glass from rattling around when rolled down.  No engineering at all, just grab this-n-that off the shelf and that will work.

I was taking mine out during the restoration and the steel sleeve popped out and fell through the oval hole into the hollow part of the rocker.  It will rattle forever in there.  I even used a borescope to try to locate it and was not successful.

Thanks Guys! The location is what I was thinking but wasn't 100% sure. Thought I had seen it in a diagram recently but went back and looked before I posted this and didn't see it. I was thinking Convertible because I don't recall ever pulling them off Coupes, but after 40+ years there is a pretty good chance they were just missing. Since Dave has a Coupe and Bryan has a Convertible then those are good odds they are for both bodystyles.
