Topic: 70 Dearborn Under engine frame support

Mat 70 Dearborn B2

On that large  engine bay  frame support that attaches below both shock towers and goes under the engine oil pan,  I have the following questions:

1. Was that painted separately or  as part of  the engine blackout?
2. Should it be completely black all around it?
3. What is the finish of the 2 large bolts at either end  attaching it to the frame and would there be any engine bay black on them?

Painted black separate & bolts phos but make sure you mount it correctly with flattened (P/S) hose area to LH side.

Good possibility IMHO that it was dipped before installation - as its often a higher gloss than other pieces that were in the engine compartment

When I stripped it I did notice some runs  in the paint, indicating that it was probably dipped.

Good tip with that flattened P/S section.  I did not notice that flattened area until I took it off.
