Completing original Sprint 200. The oil cap was painted over and the air cleaner replaced by original owner with the Hi Po Open filter in early 80s. Anyone have lead on where to find an original or a concourse with the correct air cleaner (snorkel or no snorkel?) for DSO  72 San Jose Factory Built. Built 09B (Feb 09).

There's a Sprint 200 Air Cleaner on eBay now for sale Item 290842386925. My Sprint is a Dearborn and it looks just like mine, Chrome top painted bottom.

Here is an exact pic of the one I have. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_b0cssFoNwd0/R9gZ2U_1WiI/AAAAAAAAABE/20f53pOXXEM/s1600/Mustang+Pics+3-9-08+008.jpg

It has the nub to connect hose to the oil cap for CA car. The one on ebay is good but how to get the nub without damaging?

That's what I suggest....same as Dave.... Take your original and send it to a rechromer..  Paul's Chrome is a good place... Excellent work.  Or, You could buy a repro from NPD,and have that rechromed...Either way, You will wind up spending around $400.00 bucks....Not cheap...but worth every penny!

Update: Found an original air cleaner at A&M Auto Dismantling (800-700-4426) in Sacramento, CA. Good prices. They have every variation of every air cleaner and many sprint parts. Best source I found. Sent for chrome will have next week.

Is the bottom of the air cleaner for the sprint painted black or ford blue? The old I pulled off old ome was black but want to be sure I got it correct.

Should be Ford Blue.

Thanks Dave. I found a great link for that "blue" as that can be a bit of a challenge if one ventures to the paint store first.

Down to a few more details and she will be all done.
