66 Tie-Down
« on: February 07, 2013, 12:07:26 PM »
Couple of pictures of the tie downs from 6R07C229939.  Single exhaust car, July 12, 1966 Los Angeles/Ira Escobar Inc. Manhattan Beach.  These are as removed from the car.   Jeff and jwc66k have both posted pictures recently of similar brackets.  Brian

All you've shown is that nothing is sacred -  ;)
Keep in mind that we are interested in Mustangs that were built on assembly lines with a host of other Ford and Mercury cars and trucks. As others have indicated, brackets were "returned" in a bucket for reuse so there had to have been a mix. All three plants delivered to all parts of the country giving an even more mix.
I do note the bolts and washers appear to be as I described, the nuts are different but all hardware seems to be generic.
