« on: January 22, 2014, 03:55:40 AM »
Hi can anyone tell me the differences in any form small or large between 65 and 66 body shells, I know the dash instrument hole was changed for the 66 gauges but any others? thanks for any help

I want to say that they changed the rear floor under the rear seat just a little by where the emergency brake cables area routed

If I recall there is an extra bead or ( hate to say wrinkle but looks like it) for the routing of the emergency brake cable in that area

Are you comparing just 65 and 66 and not the earlier 64  1/2 period. IMHO the question is pretty broad given the scope. Would be allot easier if we were comparing (for example a Jan 65 Dearborn coupe  body with a 66 June NJ coupe body).  There are differences in the unibody just between plants in the same months. Some of those I'm not even prepared to discuss in an open forum.  Hopefully your only asking about the unibody and not the whole body ;)

Here is a photo of what Bob was mentioning; the second photo shows why it's there. To my knowledge, only the 64-1/2 and 65 had this under the seat to allow routing of the Emergency Brake Cable. This may not be true in every case but seems to be the accepted difference between the 65 and 66 floor pan. If I am incorrect, someone please correct me.

'65 usually has screw in windshield molding clips, '66 has studded rivets.

Another possible difference is shown below. The first photo is from a January '65 built Coupe, the second from a June built Coupe. The change made to the later '65 cowl, carried over for the '66 model year.
