Bolt size for top of front valance - 68
« on: December 03, 2012, 10:48:51 PM »
My 67 has four 5/16-18 bolts.  My 68 has four 1/4-20 bolts.  What is correct for the Jul 68 NJ car?  Also, what are the correct bolt head markings?

Both 67 and 68 should have 1/4-20 bolts. I am not certain for a NJ car but my SJ has Sems

Believe I've only seen a couple variations of head markings on those bolts... RBW and SEMS.

Thanks!
Mine have what appear to be an LF (almost looks like a 4) in the center with 3 short lines at 9 12 and 3 o'clock.

Just for reference, those three lines are the symbol for grade 5.1 bolts which were used for 68 (and on), mostly for fender type applications. A grade 5 bolt will have three lines equally spaced at 120 degrees.

I never thought about grade markings...I just assumed they were part of the logo.

Thanks!
