65 A/C Drain Location
« on: November 10, 2012, 06:43:34 PM »
I have this spare A/C unit that I bought for parts and it has an unusual drain hole location on the base of the case. Instead of the standard drain location being at the far right passenger side on the bottom of the A/C case, this unit has the drain about 6 inches closer to the driver's side. Is this a Falcon A/C unit by chance or did Mustangs have a drain location to match this base drain outlet location?

Thanks
-Chris

Figured it out by calling Classic Auto Air. Seems that this unit came from a full size Ford which has the different drain location.

I never had any idea that the units for a full-size car were different.  Learn something new every day!

There are several different versions of the underdash unit.  Have to pay attention the the case design and where the lines come out.

That makes me want to go through the ones I have stockpiled and make sure they're all for Mustangs.
