Engine numbers
« on: November 03, 2012, 02:27:01 AM »
Hi. Is this the original engine that came out on my car. Numbers: c6 me a 7f6?
The car is a 67 fastback 390 gta auto. Built in San Jose. Car was built on 06/26/1967?
Order was received 05/10/1967 and was scheduled for build on the 06/01/1967.
Hope this helps.

It should be. The date code (7F6) translates to 1967, June 6, which may also answer why the time lag from order date to build date. Check the intake and exhaust manifold dates as well.

Which date (where did you find it) is that?   There can be up to three or four dates found on the engine.

May still be the original but 20 days is pretty fast from casting, to machining, to assembly, to loading and shipping across the country and then installing.

Lets see where the discussion goes ;)
