Plastic body plug
« on: October 01, 2012, 04:44:09 PM »
Trying to find some of these body plugs for my 01/05/72 Dearborn produced Mach 1.  I do not think they are a Ziebart or similiar rust proofing plug.  Should they be sprayed body color in their original form?

Never seen them on an original 72 Dearborn car (71-73 Mustang or Cougar for that matter) - looks like rust proofing to me - doesn't have to be Ziebart there were other companies and other styles of plugs.

Don't believe they belong

Did some more digging last night and it sounds like they are from rust proofing.  Hard to beleive the car was rust proofed in the condition I acquired it.  It looks like the only thing that was saved from rust were the rockers.
