Topic: 68 Shelby Headlight Trim Retainer Rings

Repro I have seem odd (surprise).  The metal retainer ring has the slotted tabs that twist-loc the ring on the bulb over the 3 screws.  The fiberglass extension has slots in the correct places, but they are too small to allow the trim ring to be removed, without removing the extension, which seems to be odd.

Anyone got a front shot photo of the OEM setup showing the slots in the fiberglass and how they align to the retainer ring?  Anyone else delat with this issue and have a solution?  I'm thinking slight trimming of both the metal tab and the fiberglass to allow it to be removed from the front as on non-Shelby's.

Got any photos showing the parts and cutout in the fiberglass?

Could also use a photos of the headlight brackets mounted to the fender.
