1967 Firewall holes

I'm trying to figure out what the purpose of the three holes just below the heater coil connections? See picture. Thanks for the help.

Darrin - when and where was the car built and what engine?   

Was it a 6 cylinder?

Thanks will check my picture collection - thought the holes might be from a 6 cylinder car. We'll see where the search goes - you might be filling these.
