65 C code fastback
« on: August 09, 2016, 08:22:57 AM »
Hi all,

I wanted to share with you what I have found on Internet, I just wanted to ask your thoughts.
This is a Dearborn car shipped to Spain, and been said it will arrive at Barcelona port within 2 weeks. It comes with US title as you will see.
Needs to be repainted (or left in its original condition) and see some scratches as well. Some parts are missing like front bumper guards, etc.. but for what you see, what do you think, is it worth to make the effort to get it.?
I know there are many pictures to explore and there will be things to restore. Asking price is €12.600 including custom taxes. Maybe can get for a lil less. I also notice it only has 1 exhaust (thought V8 cars were all dual exhaust), and also the wheel covers are base, like my 200.
Here is the original ad;

For this VIN, I guess build date is around 17K, so Oct. 17th 1964.
I have asked for the door data tag to inspect it.

Is this guy trying to steal someone's money.? Could be real.?

looks pretty good on just the pics i saw. as for the exhaust only 'K' codes & 'A' code GT's got the duals from the factory. since that car is too early to be a GT and is not a K it would have had the single exhaust. the hubcaps are 66 style, not correct.

Thanks very much for your comments carlite65.
I didn't know that for the exhaust, thanks!
Yes, hubcaps are not correct, that's what I also noted.
Will see...
BTW, looks like your car's VIN and this one are pretty close.!

Euro exchange rate is listed at 1=1.11 USD so if my conversion is correct, that's about 14K USD. Seems really inexpensive for what I see. Maybe TOO cheap to be real? That is a reasonable price in the states so my thoughts are this includes taxes & import fees to Spain? Just thinking maybe it's too good to be true but hey, sometimes the BEST deals are!

That is a scam.That car sold last week on ebay for $18,500 and was located in Maryland.Look at ebay item number 112075423347 and you will see the same pictures, the same description word for word.
