'68 Tilt column turn signal lever
« on: August 06, 2012, 06:20:38 AM »
I have a lever in "the collection" that has a nylon "bushing" near the base.  About 5/8" long x 5/16" diameter (guessing, I did not measure and its out in the shed)

Did the tilt columns use this to protect the lever from wearing against the tilt mechanism?  See only a one-size-fits-all repro, and hoping this is not unobtainium, or I guess one could machine up a nylon bush and press it on.... assuming it is correct.

There was a discussion on these a while back. I dont remember what the conclusion was (I think they were non tilt) I've never seen one on a 68 tilt

Tim is right the bushing style will not work with the tilt version. Marty

Ok, does not sound original, but it did fit fine when I tried it... ;)

It fit on mine but when I pull it back to tilt the wheel the nylon bushing did not allow enough travel to release the paws. Marty

I think that the wand with the nylon bushing came out in 1970-71.
