Correct A/C paint finish and tag

68 GT500 auto built 2/20/68
Can anyone tell me if this would be correct?
black cast iron compressor and tag

I can tell you that it is not correct. The 67 and the 68 Shelby's used the aluminum York compressor. The 69/70 Shelby used the cast iron Tecumseh compressor. The aluminum York compressor used on the 68 Shelby was different in that it used a C8ZX engineering number on the metal compressor tag compared to the C8AA tag. It is also identified by the aluminum color it was ether painted or sometimes left just bare aluminum. It was not painted black like the regular Mustang compressor. I hope this helps.
