Dagenham 3 speed?
« on: July 16, 2012, 09:37:04 PM »
A fellow on another forum said that the 65 could come with a 3 speed or 4 speed Dagenham.  I thought they were only available as a 4 speed with the 6 cylinder.  Who's right?

Could it just be how he worded it like maybe he meant 3 speed (ford) or 4 speed (dagenham)?

Cause from what I know is the same as you just the 4 speed is dagenham and the 3 speed is ford

Never seen where Ford was installing a 3 speed Dagenham in early Mustangs. Would guess maybe the Cortina though

Cortinas were 4-speed (even the column shifted ones).

Jeff - yes, all 4-speeds, though there were several versions/ratios.  You needed all the help you could get with the itty bitty engines most of them came with.
