64 1/2 power steering
« on: June 17, 2012, 10:50:26 AM »
I have a 64 1/2 with a/c and I wanted my power steering setup to be correct for this configuration. The car had the power steering reservoir mounted on top of the pump when I bought it. I found the original holes for the apron-mounted reservoir unique to 64 1/2s on the driver's side inner apron (forward of where the windshield washer bag mounts) and installed the correct reservoir and reservoir adapter to the top of the pump.

Now that I have it all set up, I'm finding that my original power steering return hose won't reach the reservoir on the apron. I'm using an original FoMoCo return hose. Has anyone else had this issue? I can post pictures of the setup and hoses if that would help.

Are you using the FoMoCo return hose for the Thompson/Ford Pump or for the Eaton pump?  According to what you are describing you have the Eaton power steering pump with the separate reservoir...I'm not sure who sells the correct length hose...I'm sure someone out there knows who sells the correct length one...
