Topic: Motor mount heat shields original finish

What is the correct finish for the heat shields for the motor mounts?  My originals are slightly pitted so I know there not stainless like the replacements.  Thanks! -Dave

Dave,
After 46 years on the car, pits and rust would be an indication of bare steel. I had some made up years ago in the metal fab department where I worked. The shop foreman was car friendly so it was not a problem in making them, but he used electrogalvanized steel. The finish is a dull grey but they fit, look good and work. I still have some and if interested give me a PM.
